Building a browser is no small endeavor. And every browser has a story. Is there a history of the Mist browser from an insider anywhere? How did it start? How did it end, and why? https://github.com/ethereum/mist
Here's the official story, which @robin-berjon pointed me at: https://avsa.medium.com/sunsetting-mist-da21c8e943d2 It says unsurprising things about how hard it is to build a reasonably-useful browser product. (And it references the @ipfs Brave integration which I don't we'd announced officially yet, at that point.)
Four years of development. I wonder how big the team was. And whether there were any experienced browser engineers there, or anyone who'd actually shipped a production browser.
IIRC, Arc was 5yrs before opening to general public. And they've done nothing paradigmatically divergent from the status quo browser model.
