Pelé always understood sport as knowledge, education, and a path to the future. In 1970, he enrolled in the School of Physical Education at the Metropolitan University of Santos, where he pursued the newly created degree in physical education, completing it in 1974. His diploma, officially awarded on January 10 of that year, is now part of the Memorial of Achievements in Santos. During his studies, the King also stood out in other sports, especially volleyball and basketball, showing that his relationship with sport went far beyond football and the pitch.
