This week, I'm sharing a new surgical procedure to help people have children.
It's for those treated for bowel or rectal cancer.
Radiation and chemo can severely damage the uterus and ovaries.
Surgeons are now trying a potential fix: they simply stitch those organs out of the way before treatment begins.
This protects them from harm.
Later, they are moved back into place, hopefully preserving fertility.
