Memento mori My brother-in-law, a 43-year-old father of three, broke both his legs after falling one floor while working at a construction site around 40 days ago. Although it was a serious injury, he didn’t suffer any damage above the knees from the impact, and we all assumed he would recover within a few months. What we didn’t know was that the oedema in his legs after surgery would trigger complications, leading to multiple organ failure and his death.
