Wu said that Bybit CEO Ben Zhou posted on X (formerly Twitter) stating that an abnormal transfer occurred from Bybit's ETH multi-signature cold wallet about an hour ago. Hackers used a fake UI to trick signatories into executing transactions, where the signature information actually altered the smart contract logic of the cold wallet, leading to ETH assets being transferred to an unknown address. Currently, Bybit's other cold wallets are secure, and all withdrawals are proceeding normally. Bybit is tracking the stolen funds and calling on security teams to assist in the investigation.
