time to belatedly chime in on being the only woman partner in @skycastle 😅 for context: life has been a lot lately. i’ve had to prioritize and deprioritize in ways that aren’t always easy. more time on work, in-person connections, and creative projects. less time online, both posting and scrolling. i’m incredibly out of the loop on memes, pop culture, and internet discourse. so, skycastle. when i was asked to join, i said yes without hesitation. i’ve always loved the farcaster ecosystem, advising startups, and the idea of backing promising businesses early. i’ve considered angel investing, but: 1️⃣ the minimum checks usually feel a little too big, 2️⃣ i don’t have the bandwidth to do proper due diligence, and 3️⃣ i worry about tying up liquidity for 5–10 years. a tokenized incubator feels like a way to solve for all of that, thanks to the very thing all of us here believe in: the blockchain ✨ first off, i don’t really buy into the cabal critique. everything and nothing is a cabal at this point. from my pov: i put in 1 eth of my own capital to seed this fund, haven’t bought a single token on the market, and my allocation is locked. if anything, i’m down, not up. second, and more importantly: i’ve always been outspoken about diversity and representation, so i should have been more attentive to partner composition here. but with everything going on, i defaulted to checking the boxes to not hold up launch, i.e. read the docs, sent my info, made my contribution. life circumstances can be both very real and also a terrible excuse. i should have noticed. i should have said something. and the group as a whole should have been more intentional. shoulda, woulda, coulda. at this point, we can either stay stuck criticizing how things were done, or we can focus on doing better going forward. that means being deliberate not just about who fills the rest of the council, but also about which builders we choose to back. the beauty, and irony, of all this is that being able to have these discussions out in the open and with respect is exactly why i love farcaster. i love that we are held accountable and called out for bullshit. i love that we can disagree yet still push each other to do better. this is why i want builders here to succeed, and why i hope skycastle can play a small role in that ☁️🏰☁️ ok, back to hibernating and going offline. love you all ❤️
