... a social lending mini-app. Someone wants a $40k auto loan, so they publish a new loan request with their own terms (10% APY, monthly payments, etc) and their social graph has one week to fill it, and it just lives on chain. I think this is actually the killer web3 social app that will truly disrupt global finance, which is currently backed by debt and violence, but we can do better now.

That X.com appeal that I posted here was a phishing attack and barabazs.eth helped me see if. I'm so glad I posted that to the Farcaster community.

If Firefox had agreed to actually do something about their dog slow JavaScript engine, Chrome would never have been a thing. Google had made some big gambles on web2, and when no browsers could actually run their apps they had to do it themselves, and I'm glad they did.

Jump on the opportunities πŸ˜„ Back in the day, opportunities might have been pretty rare, only having something real come along once a month, or year, but now it seems like we're all flooded with them hourly, and the hard part is knowing when to commit.

Staring out at the Bonneville Dam this morning and I've found my brain rewiring its understanding of global economics in terms of the optimal stopping problemπŸ˜… Even at a macro scale, we're all confronted with a constant feed of seemingly random opportunities to jump on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optimal_stopping

Hirebuddy looks cool, I'd love to hear more about how that's going. From the outside it looks like something that could seriously solve a lot of important problems for a lot of people. Hiring managers and job seekers are both exhausted in this market. Would be nice to just, move past those problems using modern tech.

PVP as in "zero sum"? Like, for one to win, another must lose? If I understand correctly, I think I agree, which is why I focus on building in positive sum economies, where diverse utilities compliment each other πŸŒˆπŸ¦„

You could also retcon it as limitations of hyperspace communications networks. Maybe opening a point to point channel is insanely expensive, so it's rare. Rebels only managed to get access to extremely limited messaging because of the whole tower proximity thing.

There exist tough edge cases here, but the most egregious crime is someone in the right lane following another merging car into the same zipper slot πŸ₯΄ Second worst zipper crime is tailgaters in the left lane refusing to make room in front of them.

I loved SOAD, but that was well into the Napster era so I don't think I ever owned an actual CD of theirs πŸ˜… I did go see them live a week after 9/11 happened. They made some incredibly powerful statements and had some predictions that turned out to be insanely prophetic. Very much respect for the work they do.
