Right, so it was a revenue driver for a solid 20 years and then became a sink in the 2000s. What changed?

They probably did the research and found it was more of a money sink than a gain.

All reasonable explanations, but none of them explain why it worked great in the 80s and 90s and stopped working in the 2000s.

Ironically the food there is more dangerous than the playground.

They probably did the numbers and found that very few children were using them. The real question would be why children are not using them anymore. Whatever the reasons are, it still points to the fact that the world has really changed over the last few decades.

They were very used for children's birthday parties, and I don't think that's very common anymore 🤷
