There's a ton of philosophical benefits I agree with: censorship resistance, decentralization, etc. But I don't think those bring mass adoption.
Likewise, crypto UX isn't good enough for a lot of use cases, so only the most vital use cases force users to use the blockchain when they don't care about crypto itself.
