On Good Friday, we remember that Jesus’s influence came not from power, but from his teachings about mercy, love, and courage, even as others tried to silence him.
Good Friday is the day Jesus lived out his teachings, showing mercy, love, and courage on the cross. He did not fight back and forgave those who killed him.
"Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots." Luke 23:34
On the cross, with nails in his wrists and struggling to breathe, Jesus stayed true to His words. He forgave the Roman soldiers who were killing Him, even though they did not realize how serious their actions were.
