Did Bitcoin's Original Code Include a Block Reward Reset After 140 Years? In Bitcoin's original code (2009), the block reward starts at 50 BTC and halves every 210,000 blocks. Was there ever any mention or code in early implementations suggesting the block reward could reset to 50 BTC after 140 years, or is this a myth? I remember this idea from a comment here on Reddit. Is it correct, or is my mind tricking me? I’ve already done some research, but I couldn’t find anything. However, I recall that in the initial proposal, the idea was that the supply would mimic the discovery of new 'BTC mines,' increasing the reward to 50 BTC again.
Oh, my God, not so good at first, repeated play a few times, very good!
