Meta has just announced it will reduce 5% of its workforce, focusing on employees with lower performance. The company cites preparing for a "challenging year" with a focus on developing AI, smart glasses, and shaping the future of social media.
With over 72,000 current employees, this marks Meta's largest layoff since the company reduced 21,000 jobs almost a quarter of its workforce in 2022 and 2023.
