🔥 Mt. Gox creditor repayments delayed ❗ The bankrupt exchange Mt. Gox has once again postponed repayments to creditors, setting a new date of October 31, 2026. The trustee noted that many creditors have yet to complete the necessary steps to receive their funds, causing further delays. 🟠 Mt. Gox wallets still hold around 34,600 BTC worth over $4 billion. However, experts say the potential release of these assets is no longer a threat to the market, as most creditors don’t plan to sell immediately, and a significant portion of the Bitcoin is held in corporate treasuries. @base.base.eth

🟠 Bitcoin & the Quantum World ⚙️ Bitcoin secures itself using Public Key Cryptography. 🖥 Classical computers can’t break these locks solving them would take millions of years but quantum computers could potentially unlock them much faster. 🟡 When you make a transaction with your wallet, the public key of that address is visible to everyone. ⚙️ A powerful quantum computer could, in theory, derive the private key from the public key and steal the bitcoins. This risk is higher for wallets that have already made transactions. 🔍 Scientists are developing Post-Quantum Cryptography, a method that even quantum computers can’t easily break. 🟡 The NIST is working on standardizing these algorithms so that everyone can use them in the future. 🪙 Bitcoin itself could be updated to adopt these new cryptographic methods, ensuring it adapts to emerging threats via a fork or software update before any major crisis occurs. @base.base.eth
