Last week I wrote about the major Farcaster client's in the market and their strengths. I’m also experimenting with pairing this @paragraph article with my own $PICHI creator coin instead of each article becoming a separate coin! TL;DR: • If you’re casting into channels, use Cura or the Farcaster App. • If you’re not casting to channel, post directly from The Base App (TBA) to be eligible for their Base Creator Rewards. • If you’ve got friends across the globe, try Recaster and change your casting times with scheduling. Note: Farcaster pulls in casts from all clients, so you’re still eligible for Farcaster Leaderboard Rewards if you cast from indie clients like Cura and Recaster, but NOT TBA. Thanks for writing this! I've been using Cura to moderate my channels but I didn't realize you can cast directly from the Cura web app. I didn't see a way to do that, but I'll check again when I'm not so tired... lol. Seems like engagement on my casts has dropped like a rock in recent weeks, and even more so this week. Haven't changed my casting patterns much at all. Happens across the board, with any kind of cast, anytime of day, night, or weekend. Heard the same reports from several others. The number of followers doesn't seem to matter much because only a tiny handful even see your casts. Wouldn't be a big deal except for the fact that I used to get like 3x the engagement a few months ago, so that was my benchmark. I wonder if this is just algo changes, or if the move to TBA has something to do with the drop in engagement (because the feed is different, so attention is further split)?

It’s not your imagination https://farcaster.quotient.social/user/danicaswanson But, it’s best to look at others with similar following sizes who post often and see how they are doing. When I benchmark myself that way, I’m not doing too bad. You can search for anyone. This is how I wrote my “the algo’s not that into you piece” by studying about 25 accounts over serval weeks.

Oh, that's a good idea! I actually found the Quotient app through your thread on "the algo's not that into you" (great title, BTW) and added it. But I haven't checked it in awhile, and it didn't occur to me to check for others with similar followings to look for patterns in the form of drops in engagement. I'll try that. Thanks.

It’s really easy to take this stuff personally and assume you have been slacking or your content isn’t hitting. But it’s pretty down overall, sans accounts with artificial reach boosts, and many people are here but use the app differently. Rewards has also changed behavior to more top level casting and less replying so this feels like a potential new paradigm emerging. Maybe too early to tell. Maybe summer slump.
