I agree with the comment from @abundance 100% and have (reluctantly) come to similar conclusions.
In financial systems that reward extraction, externalize costs, and penalize value creation, there are few if any satisfactory monetization models for content-driven and open source communities, period. It’s all hostile value capture, all the way down.
As you wrote: “the people building the value-driven products aren't the ones winning in this scenario, ever, so the real products that actually serve people's needs don't get built.”
In crypto we have programmable money legos, which I think *can* get us where we want to go. But it’s on us to build what we need, and that’s not easy to do. Glad we have people like Mike in this space.
