but, yes there is a but,

a delightful onchain bank, with a great payments experience is even better. who better to do that than coinbase?

coinbase isn’t worried about disrupting themselves I think

also they are principled enough to embrace onchain for the sake of crypto  and their mission

they're already an offchain bank, I don't think they need to disrupt themselves by being an onchain bank

other teams coming along to try that though. Splits, Mezzanine, and others

they do however need to drive a lot more usage to their chain, which directly increases their stock price

first users, create network effects, more users, more volumes, fast forward to banks
