In the crypto world, phrases like the “BTC cult” or “ETH cult” appear frequently. At first, they mostly carried a mocking tone, treating adherents as blind “believers.” Yet it is precisely this quasi-religious conviction that has allowed BTC and ETH to repeatedly cross the quagmire of deep bear markets, regulatory uncertainty, technical controversy, and storms of public opinion. Viewed coolly, this is not a denial of rational thinking; on the contrary, it shows that in a highly uncertain, still-maturing frontier, consensus itself is the scarcest resource—and faith is the most stable vessel for that consensus. We pour a part of ourselves into a symbol, and it, in turn, molds us in its image. In times of uncertainty, faith is the tool that pulls the future from imagination into reality. What we believe in is what we become.
