It’s been a day and a half since I lost my cat, my child. My sweet boy, you were the heart of our family. For 11 and a half years, you were there through every moment, the happiest, the hardest, the healthiest, the sickest. You were always by our side. You weren’t just any cat, you were truly one of a kind. Because of the love you gave us, so many people around us were inspired to adopt cats. Your friends found homes thanks to you. With your blessing, with the good fortune you carried into our lives, we were able to accomplish so many beautiful things. You were our everything. Living without you already feels unbearable. Our hearts ache with how much we miss you. Everywhere we look, there’s a piece of you, a reminder of your presence. We are endlessly grateful for the gift of your life, for everything you brought into ours. We wouldn’t trade even a single minute with you for the world. I hope we were a family worthy of you. I hope you felt loved, safe, and happy with us. We love you more than words can ever say, and nothing will ever take your place. The emptiness you leave behind will never be filled.
