Started running at 40 years old. It took me 12 years to break 3 hrs a few years ago. Age doesn't matter. The hours you put in do. Age only makes recovery more important. I don't run fast because I'm gifted. I run fast because of the thousands of hours I put in to learning how to move and recover.
In order to be a good runner you have to spend 3 to 6 months of training to be in good enough shape to start the hard work. Builiding up to 60 miles a week it took EIGHT years.8 years until I was ready to start going fast. People get injured because they push too fast. It takes patience and turning the screw each year
Had a run with friends and we put three 5ks in the middle with a little pace. Training season has started. 18 miles at 7:49 per mile
