That's more like a multidimensional thing I believe. It's also illustrated by the manifold of religions we have on earth. At least some of them probably consider praying to false gods as the equivalent of a deadly sin. Assuming that all believe systems are equally likely to be true, the best strategy is to not believe in any of them, simple game theory again, no?

Hmm, yes. But I'm looking for something more specific atm, something like "that person claims that my very practical problem cannot be solved by that technology, but I thought it would fit very well, yet don't know enough about the technical details to show them wrong"... Essentially something that I would be paid for working on :P
