In my sophomore year of high school, our class had an art exchange activity where we got to see artworks from various countries. One that caught my eye was a Mexican folk art piece with bright colors and intricate patterns. I was instantly intrigued by it. I started researching more about Mexican art online, learning about their traditional handicrafts and mural paintings. I told my art teacher that I wished I could go to Mexico during the holidays and see the local artists at work, maybe even learn some techniques from them. I was so full of enthusiasm that I joined an after-school art club where we tried to incorporate some elements of Mexican art into our own creations.
