The referee refused to shake the hand of US national team player Christian Pulisic after the America's Cup match. The video of the incident and the footballerâs commentary is available on the Optus Sport YouTube channel.
During the match against Uruguay, Pulisic had an emotional argument with Peruvian referee Kevin Ortega. After the final whistle, the player came up to shake hands with the refereeing team, but Ortega pointedly put his hands behind his back.
âI donât want to talk too much about the judge. It [no handshake] definitely annoys me,â Pulisic said after the match.
