My review after 30 days of using the @ethos dGEN1 phone.
I’ve been using the dGEN1 for a month and it’s basically a nice little onchain companion. Not a main phone, but great or quick swaps, signing with fingerprint and checking DeFi without distractions.
The camera is decent in good light and the “mint as NFT” option is fun. Low light is average but fine for casual shots.
Performance is okay for normal apps and dApps. The screen is small, the battery is decent and the retro look grew on me. Speakers aren’t that great though.
SIM and eSIM both worked fine for me so it still functions like a regular phone when needed.
Overall, it’s a good device if you want something simple for onchain stuff. I wouldn’t use it as my only phone, but as a second device it’s actually nice to carry around.
The airdrop claim for dGEN1 holders isn’t live yet. It will only go live after all the phones have been shipped.
