BTC pulled a little Friday comeback, but what’s on my mind this morning is OpenMind. Not because of the OS itself, but the philosophy behind it.
Robots have always reflected the politics of whoever built them — closed, restricted, tightly controlled. An open, hardware-agnostic, AI-native OS flips that completely.
It means anyone can extend a robot’s abilities.
Anyone can deploy new skills into the physical world.
Anyone can build without reinventing the brain.
Anyone can explore without corporate gatekeepers.
That’s not a software update — that’s a redistribution of power.
We always say “democratize AI,” but democratizing embodied AI — the kind that literally interacts with reality — is where it counts. The question isn’t man vs machine. It’s who gets to shape the machines shaping the world.
