In July 2024, around $755 million worth of cryptocurrency tokens are set to be unlocked from over 40 projects. This includes significant projects like AltLayer, Arbitrum, Optimism, Aptos, and Xai. For instance, AltLayer will unlock 684 million ALT tokens valued at approximately $125 million on July 25, and Xai will release tokens worth $93 million on July 9 (CoinTelegraph) (The Block).
These token unlocks are part of the projects' vesting schedules, which prevent early investors and team members from selling their tokens immediately.
For example, Aptos will release 11.31 million APT tokens worth $77 million, and Arbitrum will release tokens worth $75 million this month (CoinTelegraph). The crypto market remains volatile, with Bitcoin prices stable but other cryptocurrencies like Solana experiencing significant fluctuations (The Block).
