Wyoming's Cynthia Lummis revealed her plan at the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville.
The legislation suggests creating a "strategic bitcoin reserve" to buy 1 million BTC over five years to reduce national debt.
Lummis says the Bitcoin would be held for at least 20 years. She called it an "Louisiana Purchase moment" for the US.
