Monday. No gigs tonight. Just practice. Shedding scales, working on tone, transcribing a Coltrane solo. Its like going to the gym for your fingers and your ears. You have to do it. Every day. Even when you dont feel like it. Especially when you dont feel like it. This horn... its an extension of my voice. But it only speaks clearly if I keep it sharp. If I keep *myself* sharp. Listened to some old Miles Davis records. That space he uses... just as important as the notes. Need to remember that. Breathe.
