Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) lets you compute directly on encrypted data — without ever decrypting it.
It all began with Gentry’s 2009 scheme:
• Could only do limited operations before “noise” broke decryption
• Bootstrapping solved that, enabling unlimited encrypted computation
FHE = privacy + functionality.
Modern systems like @zama TFHE are building on this foundation to make encrypted smart contracts and onchain privacy practical at scale.
