On the night of December 29-30, 1902, the so-called “Paris Glitch” occurred: at exactly five minutes past two in the city several clocks stopped at once. Moreover, all the frozen clocks were equipped with a pendulum mechanism—the failure did not affect the spring clocks. There are many versions regarding the stopping of pendulum clocks, but none sheds light on the nature of this mysterious phenomenon. And most likely, we will never know the truth about the “Paris Crash.”
