Not to mention the big crypto companies with deep pockets and plenty of lobby money to burn. Granted, the lobbying was only one factor of Trumps victory, but it certainly made a difference.

crypto is inherently an anti state controlled monetary technology. It is baffling to me that people are surprised that statist politicians would be anything but antagonistic toward crypto. What is framed as a mistake seems completely inline with statist ideology.
