Tap Olympics was degen.game's 2nd game, designed to test three things:
First, we explored the crypto trend of mini-games and apps where users trade attention directly for tokens via taps and other simple actions, a concept gaining traction on platforms like Telegram and Farcaster.
Second, we wanted to experiment with high throughput blockchains like Aptos. Every tap in Tap Olympics became a transaction on Aptos, totaling over 520,000 transactions in two weeks, with gas fees under $30. As these blockchains grow, we're eager to expand the design space for what can be done onchain.
Third, we tested users' loyalty to their countries during the Olympics, tapping into a strong user desire to represent one's nation in online or IRL arenas. This resonated well, and we see a lot of potential for this trend.
Thanks to everyone who played Tap Olympics and stay tuned for our next release, 🦠Viral.Games.
