It's actually laughable how bad the current state of mobile crypto currently is. The flow of opening an app and being asked to connect a wallet on a different app only for it not to work the majority of the time is wild. We will not see mainstream adoption until this standard meaningfully improves.

For context this becomes the most apparent when using new crypto mobile apps or anything that has to do with an IRL event. I've never used mobile for crypto and don't keep my main keys on my phone (too much security risk). Generally speaking the main chokepoint is always connecting an existing wallet to a new app.

My favorite instance is when the in-app browser asks you to sign a contract in the app, which forces you to close the browser... then the contract is nowhere to be found and the web session has been reset creating a deadlock

It is an absolute nightmare when it comes to wallet connection and SIWE. UX is awful, with connecting and signing txns in wallet apps, when a lot of the wallets are not interested in facilitating passing the user back or streamlining It's why embedded wallets, like @privy , are the direction everyone is going

Frame free mints work pretty nicely on farcaster mobile client. This simple UX is the way forward.

So many are only on mobile too. Plus, integrating with hardware wallets is objectively worse on mobile. The amount of times I had to abandon a mobile transaction to complete on desktop is more than acceptable. A site to rate wallets is an idea

This was actually the reason I moved over to rainbow wallet because it increased reliability for web stuff by 2x for me compared to when I was using Metamask. Is it perfect ? No but it works well some of the time

Isnโ€™t having a great crypto browser + wallet combo app the best solution? Brave browser has a crypto wallet integrated but no one uses it, and Metamask has a terrible in-built browser. A โ€œweb app storeโ€ could be build in, basically adding crypto web apps simply to your browsers homescreen. No apple tax then.
