SEC just published Release 33-11412 detailed guidance on crypto assets and DeFi activities.
Key clarifications:
• Most L1 tokens = digital commodities (not securities)
• Protocol staking + LSDs treated as administrative (not securities under described conditions)
• Wrapped tokens & qualifying airdrops cleared
But it’s interpretive only; not binding law, restaking untouched, public comments invited.
