"Troupe de Mlle Églantine," a 1896 lithograph by the French poster artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The poster was to promote a tour for the Can-can dance troupe "Églantine." The rhythm of the silhouetted continuous kicks + large areas of white space create a strong sense of movement and long-distance recognition. The handwritten/free-form lettering flows in the same direction as the figures' movements, integrating the text and image.
