Does the "Pro" badge truly reflect professional users, considering that a significant portion of holders are spam Level 0 accounts? This label contradicts the actual data, which includes over 11k users If the goal is only to show financial support for Farcaster, it would be better to choose a different title for it.

I paid for Twitter badge, prior to Elon soley for ability to post 10 minute videos. I’m 1000% not spam, & it’s too difficult for me to even consider paying for something on app that created its own spam problem, by constantly leaning on incentives. Also, I paid for multiple channels, & so much changed since that made those purchases pointless. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter what I think here. Anyone outside of builder / trading culture that doesn’t want to exposed to it can’t avoid it & even if they could. Openrank algo creates a reality where not interacting with those type of an accounts and them not interacting with you basically treats you like a spam account anyway. It’s still a fascinating observation being a power user in web3 “social apps”. This is the only place where the bulk of communication happening on the apps, is centered around talking about the apps. In summery, it’s hard to justify paying for something that can’t scale meaningfully 🫂

Exactly! Maybe a little "s" for supporter or a "ah" stand for airdrop hunter lol!

Bots with money are better than bots without but I’d caution developers to assign any value to it except: has money to speculate

It does not reflect who they are, just what they get (pro tools and perks) in exchange for their payment.

Yeah, imo there should have been a "minimum of followers needed" and set a really low number for it like 10 - 20 in place to be eligible for the NFTs so too many hunters wouldn't have gotten in.

Totally, it'd be better to choose a better name for it because 'Pro' is not it. Also, considering that Farcaster has been fighting so hard against bots, are @dwr.eth and @v ok with bots being part of those that 'showed' support? Will they now be integrated into Farcaster because of it? A lot to unpack here really.

Nicely said. When 1/4 of the "Pros" has less than 10 followers, there can't be an argument about "real" Farcaster supporters.

I don’t think it does. There are spam accounts that got the pro badge just for the sake of looking real
