IMHO, if it had initially been applied to a few channels (not global), it could have received feedback gradually! Or at least, we could have left the restrictions to the managers! Although this issue can be managed now by some great tools like @openrank's cura, but none of the administrators have the time to check thousands of people manually.
If needed, I can provide you with a detailed description of the feedback and bad experiences we had because of these changes on the /superrare channel in a private message.
