Trusting a non-human intelligence—even one that’s far away—can sometimes seem easier. Its behavior is more predictable, its logic is clear, and it doesn’t lie, have conflicting emotions, or pursue personal interests (at least, not yet). In contrast, a human—no matter how close, even your best friend—is always somewhat unpredictable. Someone who’s your closest ally today could change their mind tomorrow, be swayed by emotions or circumstances, or even hurt you unintentionally. But here’s the point: Trust isn’t just about predictability. Part of the depth of human relationships lies in that very risk and unpredictability—something an AI connection can never truly replace. Humans make mistakes, feel things, and change, and that’s what makes human trust harder to earn but infinitely more valuable and profound.
