Today is such a great day because the "Dragon Head-Raising Day" on the lunar calendar just happened to crash into the Spring Equinox!
Spring is finally, officially back in action. Just look at the sky—day and night are exactly the same length, and it’s neither too cold nor too hot; it’s so comfortable you just want to roll around on the grass. The ice in the river melted ages ago, the willows by the bank are a super juicy green, and all the flowers seem to have made a deal to bloom at the exact same time.
I heard the grownups say that today the giant dragon flies up into the sky to carry away all the bad luck from winter. To me, it feels like someone finally hit the "play" button on spring. Everything is bursting with life, and even the air smells like sweet grass and trees.
