Have you heard of Pascal's Wager? I learned about it when I was young and realizing now it probably influenced me in my beliefs. It's a philosophical argument by the French mathematician, Blaise Pascal, that it's rational to strive to believe in God. It can be debated of course but the basic argument goes like this:

oh this is such an interesting way to break things down! it’s a conclusion i have also come to. that most people consider it an easy enough opportunity cost to believe in the existence of god at the expense of finite gain if he turns out to not exist, when compared to the infinite loss that comes with not believing and he turns out to be real
