Does Australia have autumn? If so, what does it look like? While natives in Australia remain green all year round, many cities and towns have an abundance of introduced flora that have thrived in various regions. Introduced by early settlers in an attempt to replicate the feel of villages and townships in Europe. The most prominent being trees and shrubs that offer a kaleidoscope of colour in Autumn. A great example of this is South Australia which was a settler colony without convicts, where settlers from Britian and to a lesser extent Germany attempted to reconstruct the feel of the towns they had come from. Hahndorf, a gateway town to the Adeliade hills, one of Australia’s premium wine regions on the outskirts of Adelaide city has a very European feel with Eastern European architecture and trees with leaves that turn flame red in Autumn, contrasting sharply against the native evergreens.
