Could governments fully ban Bitcoin? While governments can impose strict regulations or bans on Bitcoin trading and mining within their jurisdictions, completely banning Bitcoin globally is extremely challenging. Bitcoin’s decentralized, borderless nature means that even if one country enforces a ban, trading can continue via decentralized exchanges and peer-to-peer networks. Past attempts, such as China’s crackdown on mining, led to relocations rather than global eradication. A comprehensive ban would require unprecedented international cooperation and enforcement. In practice, governments tend to regulate rather than completely prohibit Bitcoin, seeking to control its use rather than eliminate it. Thus, while national bans can affect local markets, a global ban on Bitcoin is unlikely
