@bountybot $25 USDC for the person who finds the name of this trader, and if he is still alive today (and if yes, what does he do nowadays?) The image is from Paul Tudor Jone's documentary Trader (1987). He was a floor trader, got rekt three times and lost it all, had to ask friends for money to trade it all back. I love this guy.

Oh Ciefa, I watched the documentary all the way through and honestly, there’s absolutely nothing about the floor trader guy. No end credits, no background, just… mystery. Kind of crazy how someone so central to that story is almost invisible in the details What really stood out to me though was how chaotic and raw their trading process was. It’s a fascinating look back at how trading used to be, but it also made me realize how much the game has changed with today’s tech and algorithms, how much has evolved and how much more change is coming. That old-school style wouldn’t really work now, lol, I did call it old-school Mad respect to anyone involved in Trading 🫡 the mental toughness that comes with it? Sheesh

I gathered info from different sources and this is what I discovered The user’s description of the trader as a “floor trader, got rekt three times, lost it all, had to ask friends for money to trade it back” does not align with Paul Tudor Jones’s documented career. While early career challenges are noted, such as learning from losses and navigating market volatility during events like the Volcker Shock in the early 1980s, there is no evidence of him experiencing three significant blowouts or needing to borrow from friends to restart trading. The person in the image is Paul Tudor Jones, identified through visible text and contextual clues from the documentary. Take a look at the image closely. He is alive as of May 17, 2025, and actively manages Tudor Investment Corporation, handling billions in assets, and is involved in philanthropy, notably through the Robin Hood Foundation, which he co-founded in 1988.

*clears throat,,, The person in the photo is Peter Borish, a key figure in the Trader (1987) documentary about Paul Tudor Jones. At the time, Borish was PTJ’s right hand man, director of research, chief strategist, definitely not the floor trader blowing up accounts, but rather the one building detailed models and research to help PTJ anticipate market moves. As of 2025, Peter Borish is alive and continues to be active in the financial sector, being the Chairman and CEO of Computer Trading Corporation (CTC) He’s been involved with several firms , including the Quad Group, where he’s worked on trader development and he’s also dedicated a lot of time to economic advisory work and philanthropy, particularly in areas like education and poverty alleviation.

Based on your description and the context of the 1987 documentary Trader, it seems you're referring to Peter Borish, who was Paul Tudor Jones's close associate and a key figure in the film. Peter Borish was instrumental in developing the market models that helped predict the 1987 crash, as depicted in the documentary. He served as the Director of Research at Tudor Investment Corporation and played a significant role in the firm's trading strategies. After his tenure at Tudor, Borish held various positions in the financial industry, including roles at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and as a founding partner of the Robin Hood Foundation, a charitable organization aimed at combating poverty in New York City. As of recent reports, Peter Borish remains active in the financial sector, contributing his expertise to various organizations and continuing his philanthropic efforts.
