for those who are not quick to jump to conclusions: this game does not represent progress.
if anything, arteta has shown that he has no intention of tweaking how he approaches games in the premier league and that's not good for the future.
- once again he decided to play exhausted players instead of his bench and had to sub timber off early due to this.
- once again he decided to play eze at rcm, removing him from his best zone of play and limiting his ability to affect the game on the ball.
- once again the game plan was largely about funneling the ball out to the wings and expecting the wide players to conjure up some magic.
at best we saw a bit more centrality in this game, but that's to be expected against a tottenham team that clearly came out to play.
this is not progress.
this is not progress.
this is not progress.
