If we hired a Staff Onchain Engineer, what would the job description look like?

This person would own end-to-end onchain responsibilities.

Would you assume that includes frontend and backend support?

to me it sounds like you want a staff engineer skilled in contracts. idk why you'd select a discipline and then be like btw i want frontend dev and nextjs too

My gut tells me there’s circa 2021 beliefs that an onchain engineer is still smart contract focused, when I think it’s outcomes from onchain projects.

I think before AI they’d maybe write a handoff doc to a frontend engineer.

Now they can use that same time and energy to steer an ai to integrate the contracts end.

Do you think AI has shifted the area of responsibility fundamentally or the performance of responsibility?

Would an applicant expect more coverage, in other words.

I think they should be able to architect, write and integrate contracts end to end.

Especially given it’s a staff engineer and they have AI to help.
