I’ll never forget the swift boat veterans attack on John Kerry. Most ruthless and disgusting smear tactics only made worse by his opponents privileged legitimate and provable avoidance of Vietnam action. Only thing nearly as bad was the “I like people who weren’t captured” attacks on John McCain.
