Did you know how the word "HODL" started in crypto? Here's a short story: On December 18, 2013, a Bitcoin investor with the username GameKyuubi made a fat-finger error in a BitcoinTalk forum post. He meant to write "hold" but typed "I AM HODLING" instead. He was frustrated and drunk because Bitcoin’s price was dropping. The crypto community found it funny, and it became a popular meme. Now, "HODL" means keeping your coin instead of selling when it's dipping. HODL has also been reinterpreted as "Hold On for Dear Life."
