Not far from Naples, a perfectly preserved mosaic was hidden under the water surface. Researchers have found it quite recently.
Somewhere between the III and V century AD, there was still no water here and there was a villa. At that time, the city of Baia was located here — a popular resort during the late Roman Empire.
Mosaics decorated the porch of the house overlooking the sea. It was made from pieces of recycled marble.
