Web2 refers to the current internet, analogous to a "digital rental space." It is easy to use, convenient and stable, relied on by billions worldwide. However, user data belongs to platforms, privacy is collected, accounts may be banned, and users have no control.
Web3 is the future blockchain-powered internet, similar to a "digital freehold." It is decentralized, allowing users to manage their own data and assets, with transparent and tamper-proof records. By 2025, its users will exceed 100 million, and DeFi and NFTs will be popular. Yet it is complex, requiring learning to use wallets, and faces risks of Gas fees and market volatility.
Each has pros and cons: Web2 suits daily use, while Web3 represents the future trend.
