Zama just clarified something important: it’s not an L1 or an L2.
Zama is a security layer that plugs into existing chains, and $ZAMA powers that protocol. The focus is FHE — fully homomorphic encryption — so apps can compute on encrypted data without exposing it. That’s huge for both blockchain and AI.
They’ve raised $130M, are targeting a December 2025 launch, and even their upcoming community auction will use FHE to keep bids private. Privacy isn’t a feature here — it’s the foundation.
