Depends on the age. When our daughter was 2-3, we celebrated solstice and still did presents. No mention of Santa. She was so brainwashed by daycare, school, friends etc she totally forgot and was all in on Santa, I didn't have the heart to Ruin The magic so have just gone along with it. She is 7 now and asked me about it last month and I did the same thing: I asked her what she thought.
